Former Rémy Cointreau executive Stephen Carroll launched Don Papa in 2011 in Bacolod, a premium sugarcane growing region in the Philippines. Carroll founded Bleeding Heart Rum Company and named the rum after Colonel Dionisio Magbuelas, also known as Papa Isio, who was an iconic leader and key figure in the 1890s Philippines Revolution. Don Papa Rum is a 40% ABV Premium Single Island Dark Rum fresh from the base of Mt. Kanlaon active volcano in the Philippines and uses only the finest sugarcane to produce big, bold black gold molasses and deliver a rum with subtle candied fruit, honey and vanilla notes and velvet-smooth delicious.
