FORTALEZA ANEJO TEQUILA 40% 750ml

Description

If you’ve ever wondered what anejo should taste like when every step of the process is done with reverence, patience, and purpose, Fortaleza Anejo is your answer. This isn’t barrel-dressed marketing. This is real tequila-born in stone ovens, milled by tahona, and rested slowly in American oak until it reaches something close to spiritual clarity.

Made at NOM 1493 (Destilería La Fortaleza) in the town of Tequila itself, this distillery is more than historic-it’s sacred ground. Owned and operated by the Sauza family’s fifth generation, Fortaleza is the antithesis of industrial tequila. Every drop is a tribute to the old way: 100% estate-grown blue Weber agave, cooked in brick ovens, stone crushed, fermented in open-air wood tanks, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. No automation. No compromise.

On the nose, Fortaleza Anejo is astonishingly complex. Cooked agave leads, loud and proud, followed by a cascade of baking spice, dried mango, candied orange peel, toasted almond, oak, and cigar box. There’s also something beautifully savoury-leather, roasted herbs, maybe even a hint of old library dust. It smells like a moment, not just a liquid.
