Thomas Hardy’s pioneering spirit and passion for winemaking spans five generations and is at the heart of our outstanding range of Hardys Wines. In 1861, Tintara was founded by Dr Alexander Kelly, one of the pioneers of the South Australian wine industry. Then in 1876, a young Thomas Hardy purchased Tintara as he recognised the potential that lay within the unique soils of McLaren Vale and made it his mission to create wines that were a true expression of his remarkable region. Tintara is still the home of Hardys and remains a testament to quality winemaking, combining age old methods and new technology.
