The first addition to the Maker’s Mark family since the 1950s, Maker’s 46 was never intended to supplant the original. Instead, it was created as a close cousin that would appeal to bourbon drinkers who preferred a little more spice in their lives. It is created by taking the smooth original at full casks strength and re-ageing it in barrels that have had French oak staves inserted in them. This extra ageing takes the core offerings smoothness to a completely new level and gives it a bolder and more complex flavour profile than has been seen before.
